This hanging sun catcher radiates sunshine, which the beautiful Chalk Hill Blue butterfly absolutely loves!  If you are lucky enough to be on a chalk downland on a bright summer's day, you'll see the ground shimmering with the activity of hundreds, if not thousands, of male butterflies searching for a mate just a few inches above the ground. 
So I've attempted to recreate this brilliant scene in the jewel-like tones of glass paint - the four Chalk Hill Blues hover just above the green grass against a rich blue sky and the golden yellow sun. 

Hang it in a sunny window so that the light can shine through it and spread the colours around your room.  Or else in your garden, where it will swing gently in the breeze and shimmer in the sunshine.  It's perfectly happy in the rain too!
